RVA.GOV is the official site for the city of Richmond VA. The city wanted to create a "Virtual City Hall" online. With this site, all the content is managed by the respective departments. Standards and templates were put in place to keep the consistency of the visual brand. Custom color palettes, visuals and icons were created to give options for all the departments to choose from but still keep the pattern consistent. There are over 40 departments within the city's jurisdiction.

Custom events carousel with map details. To keep the site performance optimal, the map is triggered on click vs. showing the coordinates on load.
The city site houses over 40 departments. Each department manages their own content. There are 6 revolving color schemes developed which is distributed equally among departments. Their main image and menu icons were all custom made and made available for each user to use.
A self-service "Virtual City Hall" was created to automate and service RVA users and their most common needs. User testing sessions were conducted to optimize efficiency and access.
Their video section served as a one-stop location to highlight their most recent videos. Filtering was enabled to allow quick access to their archives. For optimal performance, the thumbnail is loaded first until user clicks on the video.
